My name is Stephanie Purdy-Azan and I have worked for 19 years as an Animal Trainer in the Film & TV Industry in Los Angeles. I provide in home basic obedience training as well as trick training for Film & Television in Lake, Sumter and Marion counties.

I grew up in Michigan and always had a passion for animals. Whether it was returning lost dogs to their owners, training my own dog, riding horseback on my Aunt’s farm or playing with a litter of puppies; animals have always been a big part of my life.

After graduating from high school I moved to Orlando, FL, where I pursued a career in Film and Television Production – graduating from Valencia College with an Associates Degree. This gave me the experience and knowledge to to work in production on various commercials, TV shows, and live events in the industry.

In 1998, I moved to Los Angeles to continue my career in the Film and TV business, working on primetime television shows and ended up at America’s Funniest Home Videos as a Clearance Coordinator.

Two years later, I decided I wanted to train animals for the industry. I quit my job and began volunteering in kennels, and learning as much as I could from other trainers about basic training, animal behavior, and Film and Television training. It took me about 2 years before I was able to go out on job on my own and actually started making money!

The best part about working with dogs or cats was watching them grow from a shelter/rescue animal into a confident, smart, and happy animal actor. I had the chance to take many of them home for “sleep overs” and help them learn their house manners, new behaviors, and socialization. It was so rewarding to see them on the big screen, commercials, and TV shows!
